(OmniPro II) Message-ID: Omnipro II (3.8) Is there any way to create a message / text that can be sent out the serial port with a flag count value in it? context: I have a utility running on a PC (written in Python by me) that receives serial port strings and then depending on the string received, emails a text message to me or my wife with a status from the house. Right now there these messages are fixed and have no variable. But I would like to be able to send a counter flag value out the serial port either as part of an existing message or even as a unique value only. However, I can see my needs expanding in the future and this would be a good way to do it. (OmniPro II) In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: To reduce the number of messages required, you can break it up into parts. Instead of having 30 different values, you can have one message for the header, ten messages for 0 through 9, and one message for the carriage return or other terminator. Then, in PC Access the different message parts can be sent sequentially. All were installed NOT using the C terminal as C terminal was never wired at the roof top units. All has worked just fine until now. Had to replace the three Roof Top HVAC units. New units are Trane. Now the thermostats will not work correctly. I measure 16.2 volts AC across R & C terminals. I measure 24.3 volts across any of the other terminals & R. Two of the RC80 thermostats power up. But will not control the HVAC units. They call for heat, but nothing happens at unit. When in AC mode, they call for cool, fan comes up but compressor never kicks on. The RC110 does not power up, appears dead. But if I hook it up to a 24VAC transformer, it test's out just fine. My question, will the HAI thermostat power boasters part# 30A00-2 solve this? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Several AC units do not use the ground connection to the thermostat but the HAL units do. Easy solution hook up the ground wire between the unit and the RCs.worked fine after that.
