[Hai-users] Intermittent periods of packet loss to OmniPro II

I have an "old" model OmniPro II (it still requires EPROMs for firmware upgrades). I've been using HaikuHelper on my Mac as a "push notification gateway" to the Haiku app on my phone, and it seemed to have been working fine. Recently though, I've noticed that the OP2 has become unresponsive on my local network, resulting in repeated disconnect / reconnect events from HaikuHelper.

A simple ping from a Terminal window shows how bad the packet loss is:

Ping'ing directly from the switch doesn't make any difference; I still see major packet loss.

Other times though, the OP2 works just fine:

The Omni Pro II is connected to a Cisco managed gigabit PoE switch, and looking at the port the OP2 is on, it (only?) negotiates 10M/half duplex. A quick search didn't reveal any information about the capabilities of the Ethernet port. Is 10/Half all that can be expected? Does auto-negotiation work reliably with the OmniPro II, or should the port be forced?
