[Hai-users] Email alerts from HAI

Thanks Doug for confirming what I was seeing. After install and
playing with a bit, I can clearly see the lack of support for the
program, win7 isn't mentioned anywhere and laughably, the
registration page only has "date of purchase" year up to 2010, so
that is telling. ha.
it seems not worth using, except for that email ability, which is my
main goal in this. So the software may still have functionality for
me. I agree, that snaplink or the Iphone App that talks direct to
panel is so far the best way to go, I was hoping somehow the more
expensive weblinkII would somehow include that $50 app's
functionality, but alas no, I guess its another $50 into the home
auto hole... heh heh.
I will setup some alerts and things on weblink and see how it
compares to the Homeseer setup I currently have, but now with a bit
more experience into weblink, I think homeseer might be better as you
can build the iphone page for that "phone-home" connection. But, its
got a learning curve to it that I am not yet over, I am still using
the Homeseer Iphone page I built a year and a half ago. So I've
forgotten how to do that already and will have to relearn a bit.
but the customization, and continued support by homeseer is
reassuring, as opposed to not with weblink.
I think I read that Lutron or someone big bought HAI? I wonder if
that will be a renewed effort put into HAI, or if they'll use good
bits and kill the brand? Anyone have any info on that?
John.
