I agree that I don't think it could be done with an actual system variable
in a message.
I suppose you could do it with brute-force, if you have enough message
slots available. If you don't need specific temperatures but only want to
show ranges or thresholds (Warning: Freezer >25, or Freezer 25-30) you
could do it easily with the proper conditionals that show the
corresponding hard-coded message. Could also have label messages ("Freezer
Temp:", "Outside Temp:", "Spa Temp:", etc.) and then messages for all of
the possible temperature values (might work for one device but the range
of freezer to spa may be too much). You would then need to show the label
then show the temperature. I think the system will cycle through them so
it could be OK (but probably ugly).
