If you haven't already, you might download and install Wireshark (used
to be called Ethereal). This is an open source Ethernet protocol
analyzer that will capture all traffic between the PC running Weblink
and the OmniPro II. If you've never used a protocol analyzer for
Ethernet before, it can seem a bit daunting at first (TCP/IP can be
fairly complex) but Wireshark does a very good job of explaining what it
sees and flags packets that are in error. This is something you could
fire up and just let it run in the background, quietly capturing
packets. Once you have captured a failure you might be able to see what
is going on. If not, the capture trace could provide valuable
information for anyone else trying to fix the problem. Wireshark can be
downloaded at www.wireshark.org. I use the heck out of this thing. I
am currently developing hardware that will control my whole house
audio. The board has a web server and is configured and controlled via
a web browser. Had it not been for Wireshark, development would have
been much more difficult - it clearly shows me what is going back and
forth and allows me to quickly spot when and where problems are occurring.
