It is not you, it is an 'unexpected result.' I just figured out what is
happening with the help of our HAI Rep during our last Worthington
University. Some might say a bug but it really isn't, it is more a side
effect of how ViziaRF works:
If you look at every lighting system that HAI works with, they are
either verbose (device calls out when changed) or they need to be
polled. ViziaRF is kind of a hybrid. The HAI instructs devices what to
do and then they report back after they change state, so....
-Send a light ON FOR 3 SECONDS. It will turn on, wait 3 seconds and
turn off.
-Send a light ON FOR 15 SECONDS. It will turn on, wait 15 seconds and
stay on....why?
Watch your show status and it will be obvious. When you turn on for 3
seconds, it will turn on, count down and turn off. When you turn on for
15 seconds, it will turn on, start counting and around the 4th second
(depending on your network) the status will be shown (on or a level).
When the device checks back into the HAI it updates the status in the
controller. That update defeats timers to ensure lights do not turn
on/off when a user manually controlls the light. The difference is that
Vizia RF the report comes in without being polled. I have documented
this for HAI and I don't know where it is on the priority list to be
addressed. For now, there is a simple work around, turn on a flag for
the time period and then use the flag turning off to controll the light.

Subject: [Hai-users] Omnipro II and Leviton Lighting
Hi all,
I've been a long time lurker on this list and haven't contributed
anything
yet. That said, I have a question. I scrapped my Insteon lighting a few
weeks ago and replaced it with Vizia RF. I have been very happy with the
reliability of the Vizia switches and dimmers and they all interfaced
well
with my opII. The issue that's brought me to post is that I have a
simple
line of programming that I had working with the Insteon but won't run
with
Vizia.
When small garage door unsecure and if big garage door secure garage
interior light on for 5 minutes
Sounds simple. Open the door from the house to the garage and if the
roll up
door is down, turn the light on for 5 min.
The light comes on and stays on indefinitely. I change the command line
to
"toggle" and if works flawlessly. If I send an "off" command the light
responds. Is there a problem with the vizia nodes responding to a timed
control input?
Thanks for any advice,
Jon
