[Hai-users] NO CONTROLLER DATA - FIXED

Brief recap; I have had an operational OP II system for over three years,
(three consoles, one expansion) and it started to display on the consoles,
NO CONTROLLER DATA, and indeed they were not communicating with the
controller. I could have any ONE console, connected, and it would work.
All addresses were checked and re-checked.

Bottom line it was the controller board. I have had such a bullet proof
system, with HAI that I guess I didn't trust my own trouble shooting skills.
Clearly you want to eliminate the physical layer stuff, but if it all else,
it may be the controller. I suspect it was due to lightning, however I do
have the system well grounded per HAI instructions. U46 was the defective
device, also received an EO9 update, but no description what that is. It
had the latest ROM when sent in for repair.

Board was out of warranty, so repair cost was $200. Nice chap Charlie on
the return desk.

ps - If you ever need to send yours in, make sure you have the latest
download from the controller. They are returned dumber than a rock! Do the
download while you can!
