HAI has said they will not abandon ALC.

Some are having significant comm. problems with UPB.

ALC works. Simple as that.

Insteon is a competitor to UPB, which HAI has made a significant investment
in.  For that reason I do not see them coming out with Insteon support.  I
would expect that Z-wave would be more likely.

 

I am currently laying out a new home and get to choose a new lighting
system.  Centralite, ALC and UPB are all under consideration because they
are supported by HAI, though I am concerned that HAI might abandon ALC.  Any
thoughts?

I imagine it is not high on their list right now.  I am speculating,
however.

 

How much interest is there?  We are considering making a translator for
Insteon, I have been told Smarthome decided not to make a final translator
after the beta stage.
