Also take a look at Automate This!
Very nice evolving program based on .net 2.

The API is not documented publicly, however, everything you need to know
is easily accessible and the ASP pages serve as an excellent example of
how to access everything you need.
To view the interfaces, load up Microsoft Visual Studio and open the
"Object Browser". Choose the "COM" tab and then select "HAI
Communications Server 1.0 Type Library". Each of the objects along with
their properties, methods and events are exposed in a straightforward
manner.
Open each of the ASP pages in Visual Studio or a text editor to view how
things are done.
It wouldn't be much work at all to write an application that utilizes
the HAI Communications Server to do the same thing that FIDOH is doing.
This would be a great little project for somebody and I'd be happy to
coach them through it...I just don't have 8 hours to do it myself. In
fact, if you're savvy with .NET and serialization/remoting you could
have the app run on any remote computer over the Internet or local
network.
And btw, since there has been a fair amount of MS and IE bashing this
weekend I'll take this opportunity to say that I love Microsoft (and
IE). :->

I've checked WrothDist.com and HomeAuto.com
but can't locate documentation of the (web) services
available to you when you install Web-Link II.
I'd really like to move away from the Microsoft browser
towards thttpd-delivered pages. Since the Windows "service"
supports the Omni-Link protocol, it seems like it should
be straightforward to front-end the service itself, thereby
replacing the Active Server Pages with straight HTML and
JavaScript.
I've been delivering the actual webservers through Embedded Linux
devices that consume 9-watts of power. It they could point at the
IIS server, and serve their own pages, LastKnownState could be
highly-available.
And it would be one-stop-shopping for serving up the pages.
It would be good to not require iExplorer, too, but that's a whole
'nother flame....
So, anyone know where the Web-Link II web services manuals are?
