I am interested in exchanging ideas with anyone who has been successful with
integrating an HAI system with a residential/small business PBX, like

the Panasonic Hybrid systems.

 

I've never done it - but I've thought about it... :-)

 

 

I am designing a system where one extension on the PBX is connected to the
telephone interface on an Omni.  The PBX speed-dial table would be

programmed with specific sequences for Omni control.  A wireless extension
would be programmed to speed-dial the PBX.  Proprietary speakerphones

would have function keys for the most common "speed dials" into the Omni.

 

All of the above is possible, but the Omni would probably need to be in-line
with one of the incoming CO lines.  "Theoretically", it might work on an
extension port, if it was set to answer on the first ring, but operation
would be "klunky", and you wouldn't have line-siezure.

 

 

Also, in theory the Omni could call another extension to announce events,
including forwarding to a voice processing (answering machine) extension (or
an 

outbound call).

 

That should also be possible, if it were connected to an extension port.
But, that would cause other issues (see above)...
