[Hai-users] Haunted keypads?

Several years ago, when I was employed by HAI as a sales rep, I had seen
this with the new blue console just once. It was button 2, and it was a bad
keypad. You need to get an RMA when you can, which could be months.
I am not aware of anything that could cause this by bad wiring. One way to
test is connect the red and black wires of the keypad to the battery or a
12v source, if it continues it is a bad console.

Subject: [Hai-users] Haunted keypads?
Has anyone else experienced keypad failure where the keypad acts like
someone is hitting buttons (and no one is)?
I had one keypad flake out a few weeks ago, and I disconnected it, fully
intending to RMA it to HAI -- of course, I finally boxed it up two weeks ago
and was about to ship it just as Katrina made landfall.
I thought this was just a fluke.
Except today, I have another keypad doing the same thing -- although it's
different keys this time (the first one acted like someone was hitting '5'
repeatedly -- this one acts like someone is hitting '1' repeatedly).
Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it possible that there is something
wiring related (or panel related) that's causing this?
