[Hai-users] can't get RC80 to talk to my OmniLT

Take the thermostat off the wall and connect directly to the Omni with a
small jumper. I know you're 100% positive it's not the wiring, this will
just put that to rest. I've been that positive before as well (and been
proven wrong!).

I have never seen it documented. Even when I worked at HAI, it was
something tech support would tell you about, but I have never seen it in
black and white.
To be more literal about the issue; if you have an Omni Pro II with 64
Thermostats (I have seen this setup in PA) you can not install any temp or
humidity sensor in zones 1-64 of the Omni Pro II

Is the conflict between thermostats and temperature zones documented
somewhere? I understand the problem but can't recall seeing it in black and
white.

Verify you also do not have a temperature sensor or humidity sensor on input
1 of the HAI. This will conflict with the thermostat.

Ok, set the LT to auto heat/cool and the RC80 to auto changeover (no fan
with heat) but still not getting any control. I also put the display
options back to 1 which is default. Basically everything is back to
defaults.
Hmm.. is there any other troubleshooting I could try?
- Are "addresses" with the omniLT irrelevant?
- Do I need any zones setup for the thermostat with the OmniLT?
Currently I do not have any - just my regular burglar zones.
- Is there some other configuration on the Omni that I might be
missing? I've read through the manual several times now - it seems like
it's pretty straight forward.
Thanks,
dan

Just for Grins, I would change the thermostat in the OmniLT type to Auto
Heat/Cool. Simply because that is the type thermostat it is. Not necessarily
how you are going to use it.
The Display Option set to 5 disables the built in program in the thermostat.
So it does not override what the Omni tells it to do.

Thanks brad. I have the omniLT thermostat 1 set as "heat only" for my gas
forced air furnace. I also have the thermostat set to #13 "heat only (fan
on with heat)"
Address of the RC80 is 1
Communication mode of the RC80 is 1 (OmniLT)
Display Options is set to 5 (Fahrenheit am/pm time format non-programmable)
I'm not sure what non-programmable means or if it is significant. None of
the other settings seem to matter. I'm pretty confident with my cabling.
Weeeeird stuff. At least I got my phone going just now! Just had to
actually turn it on in the phone menu.
Any help with the thermostat stuff is appreciated.
Thanks again
dan

Did you set the correct thermostat type in the Omnilt?

Subject: [Hai-users] can't get RC80 to talk to my OmniLT
Hello, I just purchased an OmniLT kit. Everything is going pretty well but
I can't get my OmniLT and RC80 communicating. I have the red and black
wires spliced together at the thermostat. I'm using green, black and yellow
which connects into the corresponding connectors on the LT. Everything
seems in order. I'm using communication mode 1 and I have tried address 0
and 1 although the Omni LT doesn't seem to use addresses so maybe that
doesn't matter.
I am not able to trigger the fan from the OmniLT control panel or read the
temperature. Basically I have no interaction it seems. If anyone can offer
some tips or ideas that would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan Wheeler
