[Hai-users] Voice Board

While we're on the topic of the voice board...

The speaker connected to my board seems to always be "on". If I listen very
closely, I can hear a very quiet stream of static and sometimes some barely
audible clicks. I've used the shielded wire so it shouldn't be noise right?
Has anyone else heard this?

Wow, this group has been so quiet lately. I hope all is well at HAI and
Aegis...

I have one of those frustrating intermittent problems. We have a customer
who's voice board periodically stops working. I don't think it's the board
(I changed it once). Last week, I went out - pulled out the flush mount
consoles to examine the speaker wiring. Everything apeared okay; no wire
nicks. When I put the two consoles back, the voice worked again. It worked
for a week.

The problem effects both consoles, that's why I originally repalced the
board. I'm leaning towards a wiring short on one of the speaker leads, but
I can't find any evidence. Any suggestions?

And (different location), I have another outdoor temperature sensor
failure. Has anyone come up with an aftermarket solution? Has there ever
been an analysis to find out what fails? I know this group has had previous
discussions. Essential Home Systems sold about 30, and we've replaced a
very high percentage. Strangely enough, I've never replaced the one at my
house (almost 5 years).
